Frequently Asked

Questions

Do you shoot all weddings together?

Absolutely, we're a husband and wife team who always work together, book us and you'll know exactly who will be there on the day, Vicky and Phil.

Do I need two photographers?

For the variety of images and different angles we like to capture, one photographer just wouldn’t be enough.  Then there's the posed family photos (which are optional) to keep the parents happy, with two of us we can make organising them as quick and painless as possible, while ensuring they still look great.

Where does the name 'Senior Mac' come from?

In 2002 Phil 'Senior'  married Vicky 'MacDonald'  and Senior Mac Photography was born! We’ve been happily married (even with three kids!) and loving every minute, ever since.

Are you both full time professional photographers or is this something you do as a second job?

We are both full time photographers. We have experience in many types of professional photography, but in 2009 we decided to just focus solely on weddings, that way all of our couples have our complete, undivided attention!

How many weddings do you shoot each year?

With the amount of time and care we put into preparing for and shooting the wedding day and the several days of editing and album design afterwards, we limit ourselves to between 60 and 65.

Do we get to meet you before the wedding?

Yes, yes and yes!  We pride ourselves on offering a personal service where we build a good relationship with you before the big day.  Nobody wants to have two strangers wandering around at their wedding, for us booking via email or Facebook and then not meeting at least once before the day just doesn't feel right.  We do like to meet all of our couples before they book if we can (though we understand that isn't always possible), most couples then have a pre-wedding shoot a couple of months before and then finally there's the pre-wedding meeting where we talk through the details.

What is your style of photography?

Typically our style is a fusion of documentary and editorial wedding photography with some traditional posed photos thrown in to keep the parents happy!  We have shot many weddings in pure documentary style and also many at the opposite end of the spectrum in a more traditional style. The beauty of having two photographers with a broad range of experience is that we can when necessary adapt our style to fit your needs.

How far in advance do I need to book?

We take bookings as much as 2 years in advance, but do get in touch even if your wedding is just a few weeks away and we’ll always be happy to help if we can.

How many images will we get on disk?

We guarantee a minimum of 350 images, once we have removed the duplicates and those where you are blinking (etc) there are typically slightly more. We’re very strong believers in quality over quantity.

What quality/resolution are the digital images that we’ll receive?

We size the images as large as we can without filling up your chosen delivery media. We want you to print your pictures nice and big and display them proudly around your home!

Do you process all of the images that come on the USB/Disk?

Each and every image we supply is individually colour corrected and creatively processed with the same care and attention no matter which of our packages you have chosen.

Do you retouch (airbrush) your photos?

We work a little magic on all of our images, but never to the extent that they look un-natural.

How long after the wedding will my photos be ready?

We aim to have all images ready for our couples to view 6 weeks after the wedding, on rare occasions during the busiest times this can occasionally slip, but usually by no more than a few days.

Are you fully insured?

We have both public liability and indemnity insurance, certificates can be provided on request.

Do you have backup equipment?

We have multiple backups of all of our equipment.

I’m not sure if I need a professional wedding photographer, my friend has a great camera?

We’ve heard this a few times at wedding shows but unfortunately it’s not the camera that takes the photos it’s the person holding it!  As with most things, having lots of experience, combined with ability is the key.  Photographing a wedding is far from easy and is often very demanding, even for those, like us, who have many years of experience.

Can our guests order prints directly from our password protected gallery?

They can in a variety of sizes, the prints are album quality and delivered direct to them within a few days.

How far do you travel?

We include up to an hours travel in our prices but will consider travelling anywhere.

How much is your booking fee?

Our booking fee is £295

When is the balance due?

Two calendar months before the wedding.

Do your prices include VAT?

Yes!
